Sometimes I feel so stuck and I don’t even know how to begin to tackle the page long to do list. I always say “I don’t even know where to start”. The anxiety creeps into my being and all I can think about is all that I have to accomplish, keeping me from accomplishing anything!
It’s hard not to become complacent in life by the every day tasks and only see what is right in front of you.
I recently had the opportunity to serve my city of Atlanta and my eyes were so opened! I served with an organization called 7 Bridges, where they disciple and deliver meals to the homeless of Atlanta. Most of the people at 7 Bridges come from a background where they also were living on the streets, trying to find their way in life.
Every day Atlanta is so full of traffic, we are pretty much known for our traffic here. But never did I realize how many people call the streets and bridges home. Not only did we have the opportunity to deliver food to the men and women living under the bridges, in a tent, but we had the chance to hear what they wanted prayers for, but also hold hands and tell them how they are so loved and seen.
I challenge you all to go out and serve the people surrounding you; learn their stories, love them well. I promise this will give you a new meaning to your every day tasks that you can get consumed it. If you need a change of pace or just a new outlook, go see how some people in your city are living. The every day tasks we want to check off seem so minimal afterwards.
