If you didn’t do the Bali swing, did you even go to Bali?
Here is the truth on visiting the Bali swings in Ubud!
- Yes, the swings are very touristy. I mean why would the locals have the need to go on the swings? The Balinese community has found an attraction that has taken off, literally, and they truly have made a beautiful experience for the tourist. Don’t forget to wear shorts under your flowy dress if you want to get the iconic dress photo on the swing! They even have dresses you can rent if you want.
- Yes, they are safe. Take it as you will, but I felt completely safe in the swing. You are harnessed and buckled in, but if you have a fear of heights, the first push is still terrifying!
- Yes, they are worth it. Some people complain about the price tag of the swings. The average cost for the swing is around 150k-200k, which is around $15 USD not included transportation. The swing ride is only around 5-7 minutes long, but I thought the experience was completely worth it.
I visited the original Bali Swing in Ubud and also the swing next door to Boni Bali Restaurant. Both locations of the swings have Rice Terraces you can walk through and the famous birds nest that you see all over the gram. The swing price includes access to the grounds, but you can also walk around the grounds and take photos without riding the swing.
