This life here on Earth is temporary, so whatever storm or struggle you might be going through, have faith that it will get better.
I know firsthand that it’s hard to look ahead when you thought you saw your future in front of you in your present situation, but Jesus is making all things new.
Like it says in 2 Corinthians 4:18,
“So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
We are called to fix our eyes on Jesus and run the race with Him (Hebrews 12:1-2) because if we fix our eyes on earthly things, they will soon be gone.
I’ve been there, I’ve wrapped myself so tightly in what I thought was a good plan, what I thought was a good relationship, what I thought was true happiness here on Earth, but in the mean time, I lost sight of Jesus in it all. Jesus isn’t going to come tap you on the shoulder and say, “daughter, you are losing sight of MY plan. You are trying to control your plan, but that is not what I have called you to do.” No, nobody is going to stop and tell you that you are going down a dark path and if you are anything like me, you won’t know that you are headed in that direction until you are completely lost down that path.
We all have desires in our heart, those desires that Jesus gave us and He knows about every detail of those desires. I believe as women, we really have to be careful to not jump at the first “solution” or “answer” to those desires. We need to be careful not to settle, just because we see the possibility of our future right in front of us. We need to check in with Jesus and say ,”Papa, is this your plan? Is this from you? Will you walk with me every step of the way, so I don’t go down the path of darkness?”
The enemy thrives in our disappointments. He wants us to struggle. He wants us to get lost on the wrong path and blame Jesus for all this hurt. He wants us to not see a way out, to be so overwhelmed with our troubles that we don’t want to deal with any of it anymore.
And I’ve been there too.
You are not alone.
When you feel like you don’t know how to pick up the pieces and start over, know that I know that feeling also. When you feel like you are expected to seem put together with a smile on your face, but that’s the last thing you want to do, I’ve been there, too. When your world is falling apart and you feel helpless, I’ve been there.
We are not promised what we have here on Earth today. The only hope we do have is Jesus and I pray that you know Him and know His promise that He has for your life.
The storms may seem too big right now and like they won’t ever stop, but if you can see the glimmer of light through the clouds, I hope you know that what is on the other side of the pain is going to be good. I didn’t want to believe that for the longest time, I wanted my old life back, but Jesus is molding us every day into who He created us to be.
With you. xx
